QUETTA: At least two individuals lost their lives and 17 others were injured in a blast targeting a police mobile in Quetta, according to ARY News, which cited SSP operations. The explosion occurred on Double Road, where the police vehicle was hit, resulting in two immediate fatalities and injuries to 17 people, including three officers. In addition, the blast caused damage to a vehicle and several motorcycles.
The injured and the deceased were transported to the Trauma Centre of Quetta Civil Hospital while a bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene to determine the nature of the explosion. A spokesperson for the Balochistan government strongly condemned the cowardly attack on the police and reiterated the province’s commitment to fighting terrorism and ensuring that those responsible face justice.
In a separate incident in Gwadar, a fresh wave of terror struck when gunmen ambushed a Karachi-bound passenger bus on the Coastal Highway. At least five people were killed, and one was injured after being forced off the bus. The attack occurred in the Kalmat area, where militants set up a blockade, specifically targeting non-local passengers. Additionally, two passenger buses were set on fire, prompting a subsequent search operation in the area.
